- Shop Downtown: antiques & books on Lexington Ave., Ten Thousand Villages Store, Woolworth Gallery
- Visit the Grove Park Inn
- Get coffee at Mountain Java
- Check out the Art Deco architecture downtown
- Eat a mint chocolate brownie at the French Broad Chocolate Lounge
- Hike to the top of Mt. Mitchell (the highest peak east of the Mississippi)
One big thing missing from this list is the Biltmore Estate, which I still haven't been to!
